I came to Uni here in 2001 and decided to stay in the city after graduation ...
... The city centre has a great nightlife and the new developments have really enhanced the feel of the city. It really feels like an exciting place to live at the moment. The best decision I ever made was to stay in Sheffield.

Sheffield is amazing ...
... Grew up near here, now I live in the inner city and I know all my neighbours. Everyone is friendly here and I am always shocked by people's rudeness in other cities. Not Sheffield - it's safe, it's green and I wouldn't even think of moving to another city. It's a city that feels like a village and it kicks ass!

Born in Sheffield and studied there ...
... Can't find a place thas has a better mix of everything at such a high standard and thats coming from someone who spends half their time travelling around Europe.
It's great and it keeps getting better each year with the new building work in the city centre - fantastic.

I love living in Sheffield ...
... It's a very busy town with lots of culture but also very close to the countryside. Wouldn't live anywhere else!

Came to Sheffield as a student in 1991 and stayed on ...
... It has that effect on you! Apparently a high proportion of students chooose to settle here after graduation.
Great jobs, transport links, housing, shops, restaurants etc, etc. Quite a bohemian feel to it also. People think its a grotty, industrial town with not al ot to offer. Couldn't be further from the truth!

A big city that feels small ...
... Great atmosphere - even the 'dodgy' areas aren't that dodgy (compared with Leeds, eg). Leafy, green, close to countryside, cheap to travel, eat out, etc. Public transport excellent. I love Sheffield, and I wasn't even born here.

Moved here 18 months ago ....
... Best thing we ever did. What a fantastic city. No wonder more graduates stay on here than in any other university city in Britain. Found a wonderful welcome from locals and our church.

Busy, industrial, but very green, lots of parks and woods ...
... Very good shopping areas (e.g.Meadowhall), many theatres, Sheffield Arena - what else you can say?!

Moved from Crouch End in London 7 years ago to S11 in Sheffield ....
... Wouldn't move back to London if you paid me a million. Great people, schools, night life, and countryside.

What can I say ? I've lived here most of my life...
... Great schooling, great college and university facilities and now great opportunities for employment through all ranges. Socially Sheffield is the friendliest city I know.
The nightlife is second to none. Shopping and leisure facilities are outstanding. No matter where you are in Sheffield you are never more than 20 minutes away from the beautiful countryside surrounding. Try it and see.
