Kirton in Lindsey guidebook

As towns go you could be forgiven for thinking that this one was really a village….

Small, yes – there were just under 2,700 people living in Kirton in Lindsey when the 2001 Census was taken – but that should not detract from its historic links, or from its modern role as a popular commuter town.

There are two main sections: One is the lower 'Church Town'’ which is made up of winding streets set around the imposing St Andrew's Church.

The second is known as 'High Town' and is centred on the old market place, reflecting the days when Kirton in Lindsey was a commercial centre.

Today, Kirton is still a bustling place with lots on offer.  There are a number of local shops, including a small general store, a butcher, a hairdresser and a furniture store. In addition there are four pubs, a bank, a dentist, a pottery, and a comprehensive school.

Being situated on the scarpe slope of the Lincoln Edge gives the town a commanding position and there are stunning views across open countryside from many of its streets.

Kirton in Lindsey has genuine character, and with Scunthorpe just ten miles away, it's an ideal location for those who want a blend of town and country.

There is a good mix of properties and a fairly wide range of prices in Kirton in Lindsey. Its continuing popularity is evident in the new building which is taking place, such as Millers Reach in North Cliff Road which features detached and mews style homes.

There is also a development of two-, three- and four-bed properties in Clifton Grove, Redbourne Meer.
