About the area
Wordsley is a well regarded residential area in desirable Stourbridge with a strong local reputation, good amenities and facilities, plus excellent transport links.
And Stourbridge itself still retains many of the post medieval market town features that contribute to its unique character, whilst it's bordered by glorious countryside to the south and west.
The town enjoyed a rich industrial heritage (it was the heart of the glassmaking industry) and still has an extensive 'old quarter' with well looked after Victorian houses, but also attractive and affluent suburbs.

DirectionsFrom Dudley High Street - turn left onto Stafford Street (B4587).
Turn left onto Wolverhampton Street (B4176) and at the roundabout take the first exit onto Himley Road (B4176).
At next roundabout take first exit off Himley Road and shortly after turn left onto Cooper's Bank Road.
Continue straight ahead onto Smithy's Lane and then turn left onto Tansey Green Road and then right onto Dreadnought Road.
Bear right onto Dudley High Street (A4101) and follow it to the end and the crossroads. Turn left onto Market Street/Stream Road (A491) and Auckland Road is the 7th turning on your left.
The entrance to
Lawnswood Ride is on Auckland Road, shortly after on your right.
From Kidderminster - head north east out of the town centre and pick up the A451. At first roundabout take 3rd exit onto Coventry Street (A456).
After approximately half a mile, turn left onto A449 and proceed for another seven and a half miles.
Turn right and bear left onto Lawnswood for approximately a mile, before turning left onto Lawnswood Road.
At the end of Lawnswood Road, turn left onto Wordsley Green and then left onto High Street/Stream Road (A491).
After approximately a third of a mile, take the second right into Auckland Road - and the entrance to
Lawnswood Ride is on your right.
ShoppingThe popular and extensive Merry Hill shopping centre is within very easy reach, while Stourbridge High Street offers the Ryemarket and Crown Centre facilities and many other smaller specialist shops.
And a Farmers Market is still held on the first and third Saturdays of the month!
LeisureAs a conservation area, the town's canal network is still remarkably preserved and from Wordsley Dock it climbs up the hill to Dudley through an attractive flight of 16 locks - past picturesque lock cottages and unusual wooden timber warehouses.
The 100 ft Red House Glass Cone, with its own wharf, was used for the manufacture of glass until 1936 and is now a major tourist attraction as one of only four such cones still left in the UK.
Stourbridge is also bordered by glorious countryside to the south and west.
EducationThere is a good selection of primary and secondary schools in the area.
TransportStourbridge has excellent transport links to the West Midlands' extensive motorway network, which in turn easily connects north, south, east and west to the rest of the UK.
