Word On The Street: Nuneaton
I moved to Brighton in September but lived in Nuneaton all of my life until then.

…It's a nice enough place, people are friendly and I wouldn't say there's too much trouble.

Coventry is ten minutes on the train, Birmingham's 35 and London just an hour, so it's got good links.

I enjoy living by the sea now but I miss the warmth and friendliness of Nuneaton, everyone seems to know each other.

We moved here from South Africa and have found it to be a lovely, friendly place to live ...

... The kids will not hear of moving anywhere else. People are friendly and made us feel welcome. Love it!

I grew up in Nuneaton ...

... It was a pleasant town to live in, good hospital, nice town centre. It's close to the countryside yet also close (but not too close) to the major cities. No large unsightly industries or smoking factories.

It has got a lot of character. All my family are there, so I'm a bit homesick! (I'm now living in Australia.)

I'm originally from Nuneaton and now living in London...

The town itself is nothing particularly special, but you will find everything you need and the schools are ok.
I'm considering returning as with the new tilting trains, it is only just over an hour to Euston and the property is so much more affordable than London!

Nuneaton is a pleasant small town...

You will find everything you need. All the major shops have branches in Nuneaton, parking is quite easy, except on Saturdays. There is a good library, a good hospital and still a selection of NHS dentists. There are also some good state schools and an excellent 6th form college. Transport is excellent with easy access to major motorways. There are also a good train service and bus/coach service. Nuneaton has a sport centre and a new smimming pool. There isn't a 'real' theatre. The theatre is a very old and small construction. There isn't a cinema. The nearest cinema is approx. 4 miles out of the centre. For concerts you will need to go to Bedworth, a smaller town approx. 6 miles from Nuneaton.

Nuneaton is a friendly place and property prices are significantly lower than in Coventry and Birmingham. Employment opportunities are very limited, but travelling to Coventry is easy and only takes 35 minutes.

I you decide to come and live in Nuneaton, I am sure you will like it.

I live in Nuneaton and at present have our house up for sale to be able to move to a larger property...

Nuneaton is great to live in, we have great shops, which are really cheap and the cost of living here is also cheap. We are close to the A5 and motorways, and not far from Birmingham and Coventry. There are many good schools and a lovely park to walk in. We're not far from the airport. It's great - just come, the houses are quite reasonable here too, cheaper than most of the country.
