And if fresh air and breathtaking views are the order of the day, you won't be disappointed. The Wrekin, the site of an Iron Age hill fort, gives a spectacular panorama of the surrounding countryside.

The Silkin Way is 14 miles of the most pleasant pedestrian and cycle paths. Wenlock Edge has plenty to offer both the casual and more serious walker, and people who just want to take in the view.

Driving to nearby towns and cities, such as Shrewsbury and Wolverhampton are well within an hour and there is a good rail service and excellent road links to Birmingham city centre thanks to the extensive network of first-class major local roads and the M54.
