There is a beautiful Roman Catholic Cathedral well worth a trip to Mass, especially if the Bishop is in residence…
...Otherwise a fantatic town to live in with fantastic countryside nearby. Town centre can be nice, gentle walk around for shopping, leisure and pleasure.
One word of advice though, car is essential unless in town centre, public transport is weak.

I grew in up in Shrewsbury and can't knock it - every kid hates where they live! ...
... I have lived many other places and am very grateful to have been brought up there; it's a beautiful town.
It has a huge park in the centre and is only an hour's walk into the countryside. Is close to travel to the Welsh coast, down to London, up to Scotland and is only a few hours from anywhere really plus it is in the middle of the rail network, south to north.
Can't wait to move back and start a family.

Shrewsbury is a lovely place to live in ...
... There are some great places to shop, like Riverside Mall, Pride Hill and the Darwin shopping centre.

A lovely place, with traditional ways and nothing too far from town.
