It's a nice place to live…
...The crime rate is low and the town has developed.

I recently left Swindon and am just starting to appreciate what a quiet crime-free, hassle-free place it was ...
... It is (I can't emphasis this enough) dull beyond belief, there are very little thrills to be had anywhere, at all, ever. However as others have said it is easy to find (good) employment, people are really friendly and you can wander around without any fear.

I moved here 20 years ago from Coventry...
It was a little strange at first moving from a medium sized city to a largish town but we soon settled in.
We love it here, our children had a good education, work is a lot easier to find than elsewhere and life overall is good.

Swindon is an unappreciated gem...
It's centrally located for all of the UK, next to some of the loveliest countryside around, and full of friendly people.

I think Swindon is an up-and-coming town...
...it just needs the right companies and people to invest in it.
The area of Swindon is huge - it covers a lot of ground, some of the centre is a bit dirty and dated but with the right ideas it could be a fantastic place to live, shop, and go out. The night-life in the old town and just up from the centre is stylish and young. More of these places around the centre could bring the profile of the area up and make it a much more interesting place to visit.
