Torquay is a beautiful part of the country…
…Torquay, a part of the English Riviera, enjoys a micro climate and is one of the sunniest and warmest places in the UK.
Torbay itself (Torquay, Paignton & Brixham) has 20 beaches set along 22 miles of magnificent coastal scenery. Beaches are clean and many have been awarded the Blue Flag award.
Outside of beach life there is plenty to see and do. Residents can enjoy the all year round attractions, shopping and wonderful coastal paths.

I live, work and breathe Torquay ...
... The most happening town, summer, autumn, winter or spring. Great schools, clubs, bars, beaches and great for modified car enthusiasts!

Torquay is a friendly place to live ...
... Moved here 13 years and have not regretted it. Shops, although not a great choice, are not too bad. Exeter and Plymouth have good shops but they seem to be too busy and manic for me after the gentler pace of Torquay. Sun, sea, sand. Great.

Very relaxed town with average shopping, Exeter or Plymouth are better for this...
Rail links are good but road links aren't, there is often congestion going through Kingskerswell towards Exeter.
Population is made up mostly of teenagers up to the age of around 18/19 and people aged 30/40 up to retirement, do bare in mind that there really are very few people in there 20's in Torquay, probably due to the lack of decent jobs.
Employment is very much based around hospitality/retail and there is very little industry. Only jobs with decent pay are for those in the emergency services or those working for the council etc.
Overall it's a good place to live but if you are aged between 21 and 28 you may find it difficult to find partners/friends in your own age group.
Exeter and Plymouth are better for jobs.

Great in the summer for beaches...
Busy nightlife, primarily in the summer time. Great place for hen/stag nights. Not good for shopping though but Exeter isn't far. Employment opportunities not great unless you work in the hospital, where I work! Good for walks and open countryside as Dartmoor is on your doorstep.
