Don't know why we didn't make the move sooner! ...
We moved to Brixham in the recent heat wave, can't say how thrilled we are to be here and not in stuffy old London! The houses are half the price they are and we all feel so unthreatened here. Spending every day on the gorgeous unspoilt beaches and every day is a holiday. Don't know why we didn't make the move sooner!

It's just gorgeous ...
... Wonderful temperate climate, but much cheaper properties than Cornwall. Historic and undiscoved!

A real gem - perfect for sailors, fishermen and bargains!
... I have lived here for 4 years since moving from London.
Locals say it is situated on ley lines. I'm not sure myself, but I certainly feel so much more healthy and relaxed since moving here. As are my kids!

If you have retired with plenty of money or are relocating from London after selling a house, you'll love it...
If you are a normal person, don't even think about it. Wages are minimum pay and the council is so under-funded that they shut the public toilets and stopped planting the flowerbeds.
When the Government shut down the local libraries and close Paignton train station the last person out can turn off the lights....From a local, that's lived here for years and can't earn enough to escape.

Brixham is a nice friendly place to live...
You soon get to know the town people and the winter is the best time for this. However, there are lots of events on around summer - art and flower shows in the local hall, all by local people.

Its a great place if you like sailing and fishing...
There are lovely surroundings and Berry Head Country Park is a delight. The Golf Course is about 2 miles away at Churston and for larger shops you have to go into Paignton about 5 miles or Torquay about 8 miles.
There is plenty going on in the Summer but little in the Winter. There are some nice Restaurants and a Hotel at Berry Head with dramatic scenery. A lovely place.
