The town’s past may have been grim and industrial but it now looks increasingly attractive with floral features and town centre improvements making it a more appealing place in which to live, work and shop.
Commercial Square, pedestrianised and tree lined, is a fitting centre piece for all that has been achieved while Trelowarren Street has a busy and more prosperous feel to it than in recent years.
The commercial centre is increasingly vibrant, with national and local firms doing good business in the shopping centre, and Camborne is set for major expansion in the future, with plans for thousands of new homes on the drawing board.
Camborne is the home of famous inventor and engineer Richard Trevithick, of Holman Brothers, whose engineering works used to employ thousands, and also of Camborne Town Band, one of the best in the country.
Camborne has Tehidy Country Park on its doorstep and is only a few miles from the golden sandy beaches at Portreath, Godrevy and Gwithian.
