Best Greater London town by far…
…Excellent schools, five London Underground Stations, access to M40 and M25, half hour to the West End.
Countryside and Farms located to the north of the town, including a great big lido and woods,
Charming character town with likes of Cafe Rouge, Costa Coffee, M&S food, Waitrose etc (no Lidl's here!) One problem though - it is getting very expensive!

Not bad in terms of commuting to London, especially with the overland trains, which take 20 minutes to Marylebone and are every half hour ...
... There is a distinct lack of shops, but about 20 minutes by bus 114 and you're in Harrow on the Hill, which offers a wealth of shops and a multi screen cinema.
South Ruislip does have a big Sainsburys right near the station and also some large stores such as Homebase, Wickes, Brantano, Argos Extra and Focus on the way out of town.

This is a great area...
...The countryside is on your doorstep and you can be in London in 30 minutes. Great pubs, supermarket and high street. Definitely worth considering, although property prices are rising fast!!

Dating back to the Doomsday book with complimentary entries, Ruislip has a long history ...
... Until approx. 30 years ago it was mostly a farming area but - with great links to the West End of London, Heathrow, the M25, M40 and M1 - it has become a wonderful place to live for people working in London. With many good schools it is now a young area, well suited for families.
Ruislip is broken up into North, South and West Ruislip, Ruislip Manor and Ruislip Gardens. There are good old style High Streets, one of the oldest local churches in the land and, of late, some of the larger stores e.g. Argos, Homebase, Currys, etc.
Will always be a good area to buy with all types of dwelling, from small flats to large detached houses and everything in between.

We've been living in Ruislip for nearly two years and it's definitely an area on the up ...
The transport links into the city are excellent (Metropolitan/ Piccadilly and central line are all accessible) and the area finally passes the coffee house test with a Costa coffee having just opened!
The housing stock is very solid with plenty of well built 1930s houses.

Ruislip is an excellent place to live...
The countryside is moments away and yet you can be in central London in 30 minutes. Great places to eat and drink plus a local Waitrose!

Fantastic place to live, great high street, good restaurants and good pubs...
It also has a Marks & Spencers and Waitrose. Lovely atmosphere with the old barn and library area. Good shows at the Winston Churchill Hall. A great family place and also a great place for young couples. There are fantastic apartments being built and have been built for the young and trendy. Great links with tubes and buses and the A40. You can be in the heart of London in 20 minutes and then back into the quieter haven of Ruislip.

Ruislip is very centrally located...
...with easy access to both London (via Central line and Chiltern Railways from West Ruislip station/ Metropolitan & Picadilly lines from Ruislip station) and surrounding counties (A40/M40). Features good schools, transport links and shops on the high street. Crime rates are low. The main drawback however is Hillingdon council which is mismanaged and very slow to perform to its duties. Council tax is amongst the highest in the country.
