An excellent place to live if you want somewhere green, sleepy, with good facilities for families (decent primary schools) and a traditional village centre...
Bushey Park's there for cycling and walking in. Not the best transport connections if you want a quick, easy commute into town, although the A316 gets you into West London quite easily, though can get very trafficky.

A lovely semi-rural area with a high proportion of detached properties costing around one third of Richmond prices ...
... Quiet and peaceful with an almost equal number of families and semi-retired residents who are house and garden proud!
The schools both State and Private are well regarded, and there is plenty of green space for children in addition of course, to Bushey Park, just off Hampton Hill High Street.
Last, but not least, there are riverside walks along the Thames.

Great for cycling, Hampton is a good mix of friendly villagey charm and commuterland bustle ...
... People really are friendlier here than other local areas, probably because the area has developed differently from swankier Teddington/Twickers. There are still a fair number of local families and businesses. Death to Tesco.
I've lived and worked here for over 5 years, and there's lots to do. The local private boys' and girls' schools are fantastic, and the local College is improving a lot. State provided post 16 education isn't so good - students travel a few miles to Esher or Richmond Colleges.
Overall, a good choice, especially for young couples wanting their first or second family 'starter' home. Ms C Hill

Hampton has a sleepy village atmosphere and picturesque centre ...
... It can only benefit by a sympathetic development of Thames Water's land. The reservoirs should remain as reservoirs, especially with the current weather trend!

It is proving difficult to beat Hampton as a place to live...
We have a village green, a very social cafe and shop where you can't go without bumping into a neighbour and chatting, some thriving local businesses and a warm atmosphere. Our only problem is parking.

I rented in Hampton for four years, an ideal place to live...
...quiet, with lots of parkland but close enough to town. But when I wanted to buy prices shot up, so I was forced to move a step futher out to Lower Sunbury and actually I am really pleased because it's a tiny picturesque village which runs a long the river - absolutely beautiful! So for those of you who have recently been disappointed with house prices in Hampton take a trip and visit its neighbour - you'll be delighted - a hidden gem of a place!

It's a great area to live and work in...
For work Hampton is very well connected via train links at Hampton (slow train) or Whitton (fast service), or by tube from Richmond, and the buses are pretty good too. It's just off the end of the M3 so it's perfectly placed for anyone driving in or out of London, and Heathrow is 15 minutes away.
Local amenities range from theatres to parks, swimming pools to ferry crossings, two large stores, great local shops, bundles of history (Hampton Court just round the corner) a sense of community and great schools (Hampton Boys and Lady Elenor Holllis are superb private sector schools, though the local Hampton Community College has a poor local reputation).
And best of all, property is slightly cheaper than its neighbour Teddington, despite bigger gardens, and more off street parking. And unlike Teddington the locals are less likely to be superior and rather 'up themselves'.

Hampton is a lovely place to live...
Not only do we have a scenic stretch of the River Thames, but also Bushy Park and Hampton Court Palace. The village is quiet but has shops to meet most everyday needs. People are friendly, the train links to Waterloo, Kingston and Richmond are also good, and there are some excellent local schools.

Hampton is a delightful area to live...
The main virtues are the river Thames, the green acres of Bushy Park, the splendour of Hampton Court Palace, the proximity to the entertainments of London and several thriving shopping centres within easy reach.
We have a good selection of amenities ranging from an outdoor year-round
swimming pool, local theatres and cinemas and one of the largest Sainsbury's in the UK. Go and see for yourself at Hampton On-Line.
