... The local primary schools are pretty good and the new Tesco Metro is a bonus. The only concern is that the local council does seem to be concentrating on the regeneration of Staines and doesn't seem too bothered with Ashford’s High Street.

... What a difference, hardly any litter or graffiti on the streets and not many yobs trawling the streets either. We wish we had moved sooner - love it!

...it was the best thing I have ever done - for the price of a small one bed flat in Richmond I managed to purchase a brand new two bed two bath apartment that has already made £30,000, with no stressful parking issues, aircraft noise or extortionate council tax bills.

The area is great as it is semi-rural, close to good rail (27 minutes to Waterloo) and road links (M3, M4, M25, A4, A30, A316 all within 2 miles). It is also close to Heathrow but because Ashford lies parallel with the runways you don't get any aircraft noise (unlike Ashford's more expensive neighbours Twickenham and Richmond). Shopping is good you have both Kingston and Staines which are a short bus ride or ten-minute drive away.

The area in recent years has attracted some major commercial development that has help to rejuvenate the area. B.P International have just opened their European Headquarters in Ashford and just down the road is the Bedfont Lakes commercial park (home to S.A.P's European headquarters).

All in all a really good area with affordable housing, good schools, close to London and the country - I can highly recommend the area to anyone.

...it is a pleasant place to live, things like the motorway network, Heathrow airport, shops easy to access. Also excellent rail links for London.

Another thing, should you wish to drive to London, you have the choiceof wich road, either the A30/A4 or the A316, all fast moving roads. Best thing I ever done was buying this place, the £100,000 equity also a good thing.

...a decision I now regret and am trying to afford to move back to Ashford. It has a very quaint High Street (Church Road) which is very good for basic shopping and is very near to Staines and Kingston if you want to shop for clothes, bits for the house etc.

Its conveniently located for the airport (without being directly under the flight path) and for access to central London. I go to Richmond-upon-Thames fairly frequently and it suffers far greater aircraft noise pollution that Ashford.

Near M25, Heathrow (without any of the noise) and Staines. Very comprehensive shopping in Ashford High Street. Good educational facilities, including Spelthorne College. All in all a very quiet, pleasant, up and coming area.

...and have seen all of the facilities improve to become a nice little town with lots to see and do. Local Junior/Senior Schools are good. Ashford is well located with easy access to Kingston, Hampton, Woking etc. for shopping. With Hatton Cross a short drive a way it's easy to commute into London. As a family with teenagers and young children we are very happy living in Ashford.
