We moved here 3 years ago from London and haven't regretted it for a minute ...
... You get so much more house for your money. For what we paid for our 3 bed Victorian Terrace you'd struggle to get a nice 1 bed in London!
In the time that we've been here, more and more commuters are moving here with fast trains to Victoria and other London Terminals. We chose Rock Avenue as it's a lovely tree lined street with good parking, close to local shops and only 15 minutes walk to the station.
Even better news is that regeneration is on the way! The plans for Gillingham town centre certainly look impressive.

Gillingham is a good place to live...
... It is very cheap to buy and with the Thames Gateway Project underway, property prices will continue to rise. The plan is to get rid of the current High Street in Gillingham and build a new smarter place to attract commuters - the aim is for it to be the new Rochester!! Buy now whilst you can afford too!

Endless facilities for all ages ...
Gillingham gets a very bad press, but it is a friendly, lively town where talking to a stranger doesn't raise eyebrows. The pace of life here is leisurely, it is still safe to walk the streets at night, and there are endless facilities for all ages.

We moved to Gillingham at the beginning of the year, forced out of London by high property prices ...
... Our property is lovely and you certainly do get more for your money here. Avoid the town centre if possible, best stick to upper Gillingham, ask your estate agent, they should know.
Rochester is not to far away, so you can go there to socialise and you have the rest of the lovely Kent countryside too!

It's great!...
We moved from London 4 years ago with our 3 children and haven't regretted 1 minute of it. Friendly people, great schools and great nights out.

A growing town and really indistinguishable...
...from Chatham, Rochester and Strood. Good sporting facilities in local area, good local council. Working class, blue collar in the most part, but reasonably well ordered and tidy. Good train links into London - 45 minutes to Cannon Street or Victoria.
