Wonderful, picturesque little city with plenty to offer ...
... All the facilities and activities that a big city has to offer, with the charm of a small bohemian village. Only disappointment is nightlife, but if you're retired that makes it all the more better.

Great place to live, lively atmosphere with a good balance of old and new ...
... Plenty of pubs, restaurants and leisure facilities and right next to some stunning Kentish countryside.

Canterbury is a lovely place...
A great selection of pubs, cafes and restaurants, with many cobbled backstreets to shop in. Many students who come to study in Canterbury don't want to leave. The only problem is that there is little work there, particularly for professionals and graduates, and commuting isn't really an option because the trains to London are so slow.
I miss living there.

Canterbury is a beautiful city, with a light bohemian feel at night...
...and many students that come from all over the world to study at the local university. Canterbury is always humming with something. The city has been nominated for the City of Europe Award 2008; I hope she wins.
Living in Canterbury is almost indescribable. It feels ike an idyllic place but at times can move at the pace of a busy London high street. All of this in beautiful surroundings dating back to the 14th century. And the cathedral makes it all seem so huge. It's nice. I wouldn't want to live anywhere else!

Canterbury is a great place to live...
It has a really good shopping centre and nothing is very far away from the centre. The people are very friendly and the town is so beautiful. There are also many good schools both private and state from Kings (public) to Simon Langtons (Grammar). I would recommend it to anyone.

Canterbury is a great city to live in...
It caters for just about anybody, it has a few clubs, a blend of lively and more relaxed pubs, shops, a cinema, swimming pools, parks, not forgetting the wonderful history the city has to offer including the magnificent cathedral. There are a number of good schools in Canterbury, both primary and secondary, as well as a university and two colleges.
The up and coming fishing town Whitstable is under a 20 minute drive away, famous for its oysters and pleasant beach and Canterbury is just minutes away from country villages. I've lived in Canterbury for about 15 years and I wouldn't want to move.
To be honest it can sometimes be boring if you don't make the most of what the city has to offer, but there's always a new restaurant to try out, or just walking in the centre and absorbing the history that you take for granted can be really enjoyable.

I have recently moved to Canterbury from Lancashire...
Although the Canterbury area is much more expensive in terms of property than the North, I really like living here. There is a lot to do, the city is beautiful and very clean and seems much safer than other cities I have lived in.
Renting is more expensive near the city centre, but I feel that it is worth it, as you can walk into the town - there is a big traffic problem in and around the city centre.
