I lived in southsea 15 years ago and recently hadthe chance to go back. It was a great place to live before and has improved enormously. I spent a day around the shopping and eating areas - was lucky enough to see the sun - went to the beach... It has an enviable youthful chic, perfect for students, young professionals and young families.

I moved down last year and I love it…
…I believe that it has so much history and personality. I love the character of the place and its setup. I love how the place has so many quirky things going for it and the sea and Isle of Wight.

I loved every minute of the four months that I lived in Portsmouth!
I miss it and hope to move back soon. I lived in the beautiful area of Southsea.

Southsea is great...
There is so much to do here, lots of places to eat and drink and we have the seaside which is fab. Can't beat it in the summer.

There's no place like it...
After living in Southsea for nearly 20 years, I had to move out of the town for approximately 2 years and nowhere was ever home until I came back to Southsea 6 months ago. It has the lot, a wonderful sea front with a great common and I just love hearing that Hovercraft setting off, it makes my hair stand on end. A varied choice of shopping locations, venues galore for night time socialising, the list is endless. I never appreciated Southsea as much as I do now - or is that something that comes with age?

I have lived in Southsea for 20 years and it is so convenient...
...that I have difficulty in imagining living elsewhere. The sea front is beautiful and my 4 sons growing up have always found plenty to do in town! Southsea still has style although a little jaded in a couple of areas, but it is always coming up! Come to sunny Southsea as the old holiday brochures used to say. Come to the end of the rainbow!

We've just moved here and we really enjoy living in Southsea...
The seafront of course is lovely but also the bus service is very frequent. Shops are in two main areas - the town centre and Albert Road. The former has all types of shop including Waitrose and Iceland and the latter has a few small supermarkets but lots of small fruit and veg, bakers, newsagents etc. You would probably live within reasonable walking distance of one or the other.

Southsea has everything...
...great little beach, good pubs, individual shops, excellent live music venues and a real cosmopolitan vibe. I can also be in London in a hour and a half!

Eclectic and full of character...
A mix of bohemian, sea-side, student and professional living. Easy access to everything (common, sea, motorway, pubs, shopping). Even better now the new Quays development has opened. Quite lively but then one street away will be a little oasis, a beautiful wide street with fantastic imposing Victorian properties.

Southsea is a lovely little area to live in and definitely the nicer part of Portsmouth...
I am presently a student residing there and it's great for being close to shops, the university, and some of the local nightclubs and bars. it's also a nice area for just a quiet relaxing walk.
