Townend Estate Agents was established in 1988 and is a family owned and run business. Following a number of successful years in the insurance industry, the founder of Townends, Martin Townend made the decision to enter the housing market and opened an estate agency in Idle. After two highly successful years it became apparent the business had outgrown its premises and in 1990 Townends moved to 7 the Green, where for the past 18 years it has flourished and become a well-known brand in the local communities and surrounding areas. In December 2007 Townends moved into their current premises starting 2008 with a brand new look, logo and a fresh coat of paint.
