Anyone who has lived or worked in Hackney over the past 14 years can’t have failed to notice the Rayner Property Group lettings boards on property all over the borough. From their office in Median Road, the firm has let thousands of houses, flats, and rooms since their inception in 1989, becoming the leading lettings agent in the area.

Senior partner, David Rayner, is proud of his success. Prior to starting his own business, David worked in Estate agency in Ilford for 6 years, eventually managing a very successful office for a nationwide group. However he felt that the corporate approach of the large chains was not conducive to providing a good local service. "I found that most of my time was taken up in paper work and I had less time to talk to people - which is what good estate agency is all about!" He decided that a change would be a good idea and wanted to get involved in a different aspect of the property business. "At the time that I started the business, lettings had a reputation as the poor sister to Estate Agency. I wanted to apply my experience in property sales to provide a professional and personal service to landlords and tenants. We decided to come to Hackney as its location and property style was perfect for the rental market."

This approach proved successful, within 6 months, David became so busy, he enlisted the aid of his brother, Alan, also an experienced property professional, who is now a partner in the business. Over the years, Alan has become the firm’s legal expert. Both brothers are full members of the National Association of Estate Agents.

However the Rayner brothers have always offered a sales service to their landlords and is now providing the complete residential property sales and lettings service.
