Curchods, Esher - Property Developer

Curchods, Esher

When the Curchods journey first began, we were determined never to be the subject of the horror stories so often told about estate agents. Our aim was to ensure we stood out in a world of service mediocrity, by providing outstanding customer care, quality professional advice and a determination to realise our clients' objectives. We understand the unique pressures of buying and selling property and are committed to making the transaction as smooth, fast and stress free as possible.

The responsibility of handling the sale or purchase of what is likely to be your most expensive asset and probably your best tax free investment opportunity, must be consigned to someone with integrity, who you can trust. As members of the National Association of Estate Agents and the Ombudsman for Estate Agents, we are bound by vigorously enforced Codes of Practice and professional Rules of Conduct. Our greatest asset is our reputation and we will never do anything to compromise our high ethical principles.

Since Tudor times when Esher formed part of Henry VIII's hunting ground, it has been considered to be one of the most prestigious residential areas outside London.

In the 17th Century large estates were formed including those at Esher Place, Sandown and Claremont, the grounds of the latter now being open to the public through the auspices of the National Trust. After the railway came to the town in the 19th Century, it became the fashionable residence of numerous London merchants and businessmen who enjoyed the pleasure of the open countryside that was to be found on its outskirts, and which is still enjoyed today.

By 1900 the urban sprawl from London was first broken at Esher and this is still the case today, as it is considered by many as the "first staging post" from the City.

The commuter service from the mainline station (London Waterloo about 20 minutes) and the fast A3 trunk road allow swift access to London, the A3 now linking with the full radial motorway network at junction 10 of the M25. London's southerly airports are each only about ½ an hour distant. Esher enjoys a full range of sports and recreational facilities including the Sandown Park Racecourse in the centre of the town.

Both state and private schools are to be found in the area including renowned prep schools and also the American and Dutch community schools in nearby Cobham and Pyrford attract many international residents. Esher high street has many quality restaurants, shops and a supermarket plus a multi-screen cinema.

It has always been and continues to be a prime place to live for the discerning buyer.
