Word On The Street: Worsley

... It's central for network links, i.e. motorways, trains, trams, and transport has improved dramatically, with easy access to the great nightlife in Manchester - which boasts excellent bars and restaurants - and it’s not too far to travel from Worsley.

Shopping is fantastic too, as the new Arndale Centre has recently been renovated. There are beautiful walks, either in the woods and down by the canal, or maybe take a stroll around Blackleach Country Park - you will not be disappointed!

... I find the people of Walkden lovely and very friendly and get tired of people trying to make out it is a bad place to live. It is in the middle of all the main shopping areas like the Trafford centre, the Reebok stadium, Bolton, Manchester and the bus and train routes are excellent.

I would like to know where else you can get property so cheaply, in an area with all these amenities?

Word on the Street: Worsley

I have fallen in love with village life and like nothing more than to sit on my bench in summer feeding the ducks and saying 'Hi' to the friendly people on the passing barges.

Sunday mornings are also a favourite of mine, going for a brisk walk across the green, over the cobbled bridge and into the village store to collect the papers, and if the hangover is not lifting, a long walk in the woods is guaranteed to clear the cobwebs.

Word on the Street: Worsley

It's a great place to live. Quiet, green, close to Manchester yet far enough away. I used to work in the Barton Arms (local Worsley pub) while I was a student, it was a great place to eat and drink. Friends say it's still good. There are not many areas as nice that are that close to Manchester.
