Although largely Georgian, Heddon House dates back originally to the 17th century, and was purchased by the current owner in the early 21st century when the house and its three neighbouring dwellings required complete rennovation and modernisation.

The owner completely restored the main house and adjacent buildings into four luxury homes. South facing Heddon House is the largest undoubtedly the finest of the four, with two at the rear and a separate wing at the side.

The house has a magnificent approach from the Military Road along Heddon House Lane to its southern elevation at the front of the property through electrically operated individually designed gates, with an intercom system connecting to the house. The half acre of gardens at the front have a Japanese influence and include a triple stone built garage and contemporary running water feature. The gravelled drive leads to a turning circle at the front with an impressive entrance through to the main reception hall. The whole of the ground floor is finished with limestone flooring and under-floor heating. The hall connects through tall double doors into the drawing room, with a magnificent limestone fireplace and lovely aspect and view. The dining room is at the rear of the property and has a beautiful original fully restored Georgian fireplace, with a hidden door connecting both reception rooms. A rear entrance hall leads from the dining room and pleasant views are enjoyed over the gardens at the rear.

The main kitchen/breakfasting room is in the East Wing of the house and has been converted from a former chapel. This large room is very impressive with a living area, breakfasting area and bespoke handmade kitchen supplied by Newcastle Furniture Company with wenge wood, beautiful granite and extensive built-in appliances. The kitchen is an absolute delight and has two feature curved doors, one leading to the boiler room and the other to a utility room and rear entrance.

Connecting from the kitchen is the glass conservatory/garden room, built by the same people who fitted the Baltic Glass at Baltic Centre for Contemporary Art on Gateshead Quays. This is a fabulous room, which has uninterrupted views of the gardens. A bespoke piece of art has been purpose made for this room and may be available to subject to separate negotiation.

To the rear entrance hall and stairwell there is a cloakroom and wc. The stairwell is beautiful with natural light from the tall triple Venetian window which is spot lit at night and overlooks the rear gardens. The first floor landing connects to the master bedroom suite, with fitted wardrobes and a feature curved glass wall which divides the room from its luxury en-suite bathroom and wc.

There are three further double bedrooms to the house; two at the front have en-suite shared Jack and Jill bathroom and shower room and have pleasant views overlooking the gardens. The fourth bedroom at the rear is en-suite with double shower and Jacuzzi bath. All of the bathrooms are finished with fabulous travertine wall and floor tiling.

The property has oil fired central heating and a sophisticated alarm system which links into a monitoring service.

The property's interior is very tasteful and the colour choices to the walls and doors are contemporary but wholly in keeping with the style and era of the house. The interpretation of the refurbishment to the house is very artistic and complements the individual pieces of bespoke art within the house, so many pieces being individually made for the rooms themselves.

The furniture and other contents may be available through separate negotiation.

Heddon House is a historic property refurbished in a tasteful contemporary style with all modern facilities in a beautiful location on the outskirts of Newcastle. It enjoys superb access from the A69 to Newcastle and the Western Bypass linking it to the whole of Tyneside. It also has easy access to Matfen, Corbridge, Hexham and the West and is very convenient for the airport.

This beautiful home is surrounded by fabulous open countryside and superb views of the Tyne Valley.
