I have lived in Bedford for 14 years...
It is good town. It has a good sized town centre with a variety of different types of shops. There are local leisure activities as well. I would also say that Bedford is a multi cultural town.

Bedford is a wicked place...
I have lived there for 12 years. I love Bedford, although I recently moved to Jersey (Channel Islands). Most of my family still live there. I visit Bedford a lot. Even for little things like shopping (well that's quite a big thing) Bedford has a wide variety of fun activities for youngsters.

I have lived in Bedford for 5 years after living in Milton Keynes...
...for 8 years (the only good thing to come out of MK is the A421!). Bedford has a good atmosphere with a wide variety of leisure and recreational services and the river acts as a magnet to everyone in the town. The good schools are a big attraction and it does seem finally that the council are now thinking of redeveloping the town centre which can only be a good thing!

Muliticultural, really nice embankment that's a credit to the town...
...a bit in the shadow of Milton Keynes but lots of local jobs. Bedford never seems short of jobs on offer, housing prices not too bad especially compared to Luton or Cambridge, good transport links re trains.
Luton airport etc, 5-10 minutes from junction 13 of the M1and the restaurants are quite diverse and fairly priced, i.e. Italian, Indian, Chinese - and lots of bars for the in crowd.
Good schools, good sports facilities, i.e. athletics stadium, rugby club, thriving local football scene, generally a good feel about the town with some developments in the offing, re bus terminal revamp and Castle Lane redevelopment etc. In general it's a good place to be, I was brought up here, live and work here and I can honestly say it's got something for everyone.
